Live-edge white oak top finished with Odies Oil (a durable hard-wax finish which is non-toxic and safe for food contact). Voids and cracks are filled with black epoxy. The edges are rounded over, and everything is sanded very smooth!
The base pieces are made from red oak that I stained black and then finished with a satin polyurethane topcoat. Four leveling feet are hidden in the bottom of the base pieces so you can level the coffee table on an uneven floor and completely eliminate any rocking or wobbling. The bases are attached to the top in a way that allows the top to expand and contract under different temperature and humidity conditions to prevent cracking. This piece is very heavy (in a good way; think strength and durability) and built to last!
