This stunning kitchen table is constructed from locally-sourced hard (sugar) maple and red oak. It has a farmhouse style base with maple legs and red oak aprons. The top is alternating boards of maple and oak with live-edge maple on the outside. Every time you change position to look at the table the figure from curly and birdseye maple changes, as does the exposed fleck from the quarter-sawn red oak. Pictures don't do this top justice because the wood grain seems to dance around as you circle around it! The entire table is finished with Rubio Monocoat. A Dumke Designs logo is burned into the underside of the top. The top is held onto the base with clips, which allow the top to expand and contract seasonal humidity changes and also allow easy removal of the top in case it is being moved. Any knots were carefully cleaned and filled with clear epoxy, which adds to the complexity of this functional, yet artful, table. It's a real conversation piece!
