This butcher block is comprised of black walnut and white oak. The end-grain construction is much more durable than a regular cutting board, so this is really a "forever piece" that will last your lifetime and more if it's cared for. It has lots of features: a continuous juice groove to keep liguid from running off the block, large non-slip rubber feet to raise the block off your countertop, and handholds are routed into the underside to make it easier to pick up!
